The Cook County Tennis Association maintains five courts, three lit for evening play, just five blocks north of downtown. Check their website for programs, classes and tournaments. Gunflint Hills Golf Course 218-387-9988 All levels of golfers appreciate this picturesque 9-hole par 36 course. Mature fairways lined with wildflowers, cattails, birch and pine lead to well-maintained approaches and greens. The course is 3030 yards with three sets of tees, a small club house, cart rental, snacks and beverages, and is just 4 miles from downtown Grand Marais. Visit Gunflint Hills Golf Course website. Superior National at Lutsen 218-663-7195 Rated #1 in Minnesota by Golf Digest, this 27-hole course features the Canyon Nine, the River Nine and the Mountain Nine. Challenging, well-designed holes arc through the forest at the foot of Moose Mountain, traverse the Poplar River and afford occasional Lake Superior views. The 6300 yard course is located 18 miles west of Grand Marais, on Highway 61. Visit Superior National Golf Course website. Grand Marais Mini Golf 218-387-3570 Located near Aspen Inn on Highway 61 is open daily throughout the summer, this is a great evening choice when other attractions are closed for the day. Include time for a round and try and break the 18-hole record.
